Match Report
Ipswich School 1st XV vs  Framlingham College
On: Saturday, 15 Sep 2018
Venue: at Home

Ipswich started well with good intensity. Framlingham and Ipswich exchanged blows and both teams showed they were ready for the game and wanted to win. Like the last two weeks, we started strong and took the lead first. Framlingham retaliated and took the lead going into half time. The intensity continued in the second half with Ipswich trying to attack from everywhere but were not clinical enough and missed out on five try scoring opportunities. With 20 minutes left Framlingham pushed out to a 20 points to 10 lead. Ipswich rallied and with 10 minutes left and scored a converted try to make it 17 – 20 to Framlingham. In the remaining 10 minutes, Ipswich were camped in the Framlingham half but the over arousal and lack of correct decision making under pressure, meant we did not score and lost a game we all felt we let slip away.

The Headmaster Mr Weaver summed it up perfectly when he addressed the team at the end. We had the fire in our bellies for the game but lacked the ice in our heads to make the correct decisions under pressure.
